Terms of Service

  • AI Usage: You are responsible for the content you generate with our AI tools. Do not use AI to generate harmful content.

By accessing or using the BYF App ("The Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

Agreement

1. The Agreement

This document constitutes a legal agreement between "You" (the User Entity) and the Baptist Youth Fellowship team. We grant you a limited, revocable license to use the app for ministry and organizational purposes, subject to your compliance with these terms.

In today's fast-paced digital world, we constantly iterate to provide the best tools for your ministry. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and agree to these Terms.

Accounts

2. Account Security & Eligibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use this service independently. Users under 13 must have parental consent.
  • Responsibility: You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notification: You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Required Communications: You agree that security and assignment emails may be sent as required operational communications and cannot be opted out of.
Operational Safety

3. Setlist Recovery & Deletion

To reduce service-day disruption, setlists are first moved to trash instead of immediate permanent deletion. Restoring from trash is available to authorized roles.

Permanent deletion may be restricted to elevated roles and/or additional safeguards. Attempts to bypass these controls are a violation of these Terms.

Ownership & Rights

4. Your Content

Ownership: You retain full ownership rights to any original content (e.g., songs, compositions) you upload.

License to Us: By uploading content, you grant us a license to store, host, and display the files as necessary for the application's functionality. This ensures we can lawfully display the content to you and your team.

AI & Generative Tools

5. AI Usage Policy

Responsible AI

Do not use our AI tools to generate hate speech, sexually explicit content, or misleading information.

No Guarantee: Artificial Intelligence is an evolving field. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or uniqueness of content generated by our AI features.

Usage Limits: We reserve the right to limit the rate of AI generation requests to prevent abuse and ensure fair usage for all users.

Prohibited Conduct

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Security Breaches: Attempt to compromise the security of the application or access data not intended for you.
  • Abuse: Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
  • Copyright Infringement: Upload content for which you do not possess the necessary rights or licenses (e.g., CCLI compliance).
  • Unsolicited Communication: Use the platform to distribute spam or unauthorized advertising.
  • Operational Abuse: Misusing admin/dev tools (including mass messaging or deletion workflows) to disrupt church operations is prohibited.
Third Party Infrastructure

7. Third Party Infrastructure

The BYF App is built on top of world-class infrastructure providers including Vercel, Google Cloud, and Sentry. By using our service, you acknowledge that our ability to provide this service is contingent upon the availability and terms of these underlying providers.

Liability

8. Limitation of Liability

The application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any damages, data loss, or service interruptions resulting from your use of the application. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Baptist Youth Fellowship team and its affiliates from any claims arising out of your use of the app or violation of these Terms.

Glossary of Terms

Indemnification

An agreement to pay for upgrades or damages you cause. If you are sued for your content, you are responsible for the legal costs.

Arbitration

A method of resolving disputes outside of court, where a neutral third party makes a binding decision.

Liability

Legal responsibility for acts or omissions. We limit our liability to protect our ability to offer this service.

Termination

The cancellation of your access to the service, which may occur if these terms are violated.
